The CBD industry has been growing exponentially in recent years. In addition, cannabinoids are becoming the subject of increasing focus all over the globe. Unfortunately, the US Food and Drug Administration hasn’t yet officially approved it for consumption. That means the industry is currently loosely regulated. How can you tell which CBD manufacturers to trust?
This could be bad news for those wanting to take full advantage of the myriad of potential health benefits CBD offers. They range from boosting general well-being to treating rare forms of epilepsy. However, due to the fact that there are no common standards for manufacturers to adhere to, pretty much anyone can label and sell a product as “CBD.” In fact, research conducted in 2017 found that a staggering 70% of CBD products that were tested were mislabelled.
This isn’t just dishonesty at its finest, though. It can also be outright dangerous. If the extract contains high levels of heavy metals, pesticides, and toxins, it could make the consumer extremely unwell – to say the least. It’s therefore imperative that you buy your CBD products from a manufacturer that you can trust.
How Can You Tell Which CBD Manufacturers to Trust?
To gain your trust, companies should be displaying a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for every product. The CoA proves that it’s undergone independent third-party lab testing. In short, a manufacturer sends samples of all its products to a laboratory. The lab then tests them and also provides full, comprehensive results for the seller to display proudly.
As the laboratories are in no way associated or affiliated with the brands or companies that they’re testing, they have no reason to be anything other than completely honest regarding their findings. In addition, scientific organizations are held in high regard, with exceptional and consistent reputations to uphold. They’re certainly not going to put their reputations at risk.
The test results shown on the CoA indicate the potency, purity, and overall quality and contents of the extracts. For that reason, you can know exactly what you’re putting into your body. A good CoA will indicate that the manufacturer has used a good hemp source and top-quality cultivation and extraction processes. Unless manufacturers have something to hide, why wouldn’t they want to guarantee the quality of their products? In short, if there isn’t an up-to-date CoA available from any CBD manufacturer you’re thinking about buying from, move on. And if it means paying a little more, it’s well worth it.
